Uniform
You will be able to participate in the parade only if you have been issued and are wearing full 3B Formal uniform. Cadets who have not been issued a uniform, or have an incomplete set, are instead welcome to attend a service as a member of the public in mufti clothing.
– Poppies are worn on the right above the name tag, with stem inserted behind the name tag (and secured with a pin).
– Medals of deceased relatives are worn on the right, below the name tag. They must be properly mounted. Generally they are only worn on the jersey. They must not be worn on the shirt if the mounting pin will cause damage to the fabric (the pins are usually quite thick to support the weight of a medal set).
– If thermal underlayers are worn, these are not to be visible (including at the neck of the shirt).
Top tips:
– You MUST eat breakfast prior to parade.
– If you feel like you’re going to faint, take a knee.
– Please do not bring backpacks, drink bottles or bulky items unless you have family/friends you can leave them with.
– Be aware that car parking may be limited and road closures may be in place.
